Verdict claimed in the Vencini case — bloc draws blood — ceasefire on the board

Not Guilty: A Vencini Associate Walks

The week's most-watched courtroom fight ended in an acquittal — by the defendant's own account.

The city judged him, and by his account, the jury said not guilty. In a Wednesday-morning post, a Vencini associate facing homicide charges announced that he had walked out of his first trial a free man — closing the case that has dominated the city for a week.

The verdict, if his account holds, lands a day after the bond fight his defense counsel had scheduled for Tuesday, October 13. The counsel had framed Tuesday as the start of a two-front battle: the fight for bond, and a bid to hold the city's police accountable over a triple stabbing the defendant says he suffered while in custody.

No independent account of the hearing's outcome had surfaced by press time. The acquittal is claimed by the defendant himself, in a post heavy on vindication: the headlines will talk, he wrote, but the story continues.

Below the Fold

New arrivals and old pressure

The BayCity Table, Reshuffled

Carvelli posted its “Upper Echelon” hierarchy on Saturday — Don, underboss, consigliere, capo and made men — conspicuously without the name the city is still talking about: the man the family publicly cut last week, now running under a new banner with another outfit. The Carvelli name stays; the bloodline shrinks.

Morello's Loud Week

Morello published its LCN table on October 13 — underboss, capos and soldiers of interest — and a day earlier an “FIB surveillance” notice claimed a longtime Morello-linked figure had resurfaced in Los Santos after an extended recovery out of state.

Meanwhile the Lucchese account posted October 13 that Bonanno soldiers murdered a Morello enforcer outside his office — a claimed hit that heats the Lucchese-vs-Morello front first teased on October 11.

One Commission for All?

In a string of Tuesday stories, the Wo Hop To Triads floated a “Unicom” — a single unified commission for mafia, MCs, street gangs, cartels and milsim outfits, each defined by its own stipulations. Days after signing the city's first non-mafia alliance, the bloc is now proposing to reorganize the entire underworld.

The Sit-Down

A weekly conversation with the figures running Los Santos

The Marzoni Don

Founder and Don of the Marzoni Famiglia

Answered via DM, October 2026 — the Chronicle's first Sit-Down

Q: In character, for the record — introduce yourself: your name in the life, and your position in the family.

A: “I am Paul 'Pope' Marzoni and I am the founder and Don of the Marzoni Famiglia. I picked the sobriquet Pope because I believe in diplomacy versus random acts of violence, and every action must have a purpose. And as an OG of the mafia community — starting from Xbox in 2013 and going to PSN in 2016, and after a second return to the Xbox side of things, I've remained on the PSN side since 2022.”

Q: Every family has an origin story. What's yours — how did this family come up in Los Santos?

A: “Marzoni's origin story is simple, really. As I stated before, I've been in the community a very long time, and I wanted to build something that isn't based on the new age ragebait tactics but is refined like the community used to be before. The FPS feature of GTA 5 ruined things, because I believe in the Vegas mantra — what happens on GTA stays there. So I wanted to bring people together to form an old fashioned style crime family which doesn't use hits as aggressively as others. We act with purpose. We are a brotherhood for all mature, civil-minded individuals, and we respect our members' real life commitments. As long as you carry your weight in the family we don't have an issue, because I believe you're either born with loyalty or you're not. Our war record speaks for itself — we shut Genovese down after fighting them legit and not breaking mafia community rules, and we fought LaNinna to a standstill, but we work together and aren't petty, unlike the crews of today using Instagram to beef.”

Q: What's the biggest misconception people have about your family?

A: “Marzoni's biggest misconception is we don't let emotions fuel our actions — meaning we do not start wars, we finish them.”

Q: The city's been loud lately — alliances, hits, fallouts. Where does your family stand in all of it?

A: “Honestly, me and my family are keeping our eyes peeled as everyone wraps up GTA 5, but we are excited to solidify our legacy in Vice City. But I think that people need to mature before GTA 6 drops — get all the FPS angst about scorerecords etc. out the way, because 6 is gonna be different.”

Q: Walk me through a night that defines what your family is about.

A: “A night amongst the Marzoni Famiglia is marked by professionalism, a chill atmosphere — because GTA is a game at the end of the day, so we don't let anything that other families do affect us. Back in LS we rolled deep with heists, hits and turf wars and business sells, but with LS on the way out, Vice City is the biggest and best opportunity for advancement for us. We stay focused on Marzoni only.”

Q: Loyalty gets talked about a lot in this life. What does it actually look like day to day?

A: “Day to day or night to night, we either were training, meeting with other families, or doing hits against blacklisted families, or heists back on 5 — but for 6 we'll hit the ground running. Or business sells, or meetings.”

Q: What's the one rule in your family that nobody breaks — and what happens if they do?

A: “Now we have our golden rules, mainly to keep everything about GTA on PSN, and we NEVER go personal. When the headset goes on we expect our members to be professional, chill — just enjoy the game and the community and the Marzoni Famiglia as a whole.”

Q: Last one — where is this family a year from now?

A: “In regards to a year: we've celebrated our one year since we established ourselves in October of 2025 anniversary, and will reunite and reopen for business in Vice City. All I can say is a Golden Legacy is coming to Vice City and Leonida as a whole. Eredità d'oro is our motto for a reason.”

In conclusion — “I couldn't have done it without my members.”

Editor's note: The Sit-Down runs interviewees' answers in full, as promised. Claims about other families in the answers above are the interviewee's own. The Chronicle's right-of-reply door is open and will be held for a later edition.
